Tenchi no Mon 2: Busouden is the prequel to Kingdom of Paradise. The game featured an all new cast of charaters and new lands to explore, but unfortunately was never released outside of Japan.

Wish this was available in English, the visuals are pretty nice, and the customizable combat system with 2 playable characters, but it's hard to know where to go.
