The Great Perhaps is a time travel puzzle game about an astronaut returning to Earth destroyed by natural cataclysms. There, among the ruins he finds an unusual artifact - an old lantern, in the light of which you can see glimpses of another time and travel to the past.

Played this a while back on the switch, its definitely unique but I presume it didn't get all the time it deserved to be fully fledged
There's some cool uses of the time travelling that set some memorable moments, but there is definitely a kind of clunkiness surrounding a multitude of the systems that dampen the experience somewhat
Also, while not bad per se, I kinda feel like the ending drops the ball a little bit
I do LOVE the russian voice acting, it sets the vibe exceptionally well alongside the scenary
Overall, it's a memorable little game that works within it's limitations, which is more than I can say about a lot of projects from this 2023

Нелепый квест. Игра имеет хорошую стилистику и визуально привлекает. Сеттинг и атмосфера великолепны. Сюжет неплох. В нём есть совершенно вульгарные твисты, которые только смех вызывают, но общий движ нормален и персонажи понятны. А вот что касается геймплея, он тут ужасный. Я не во много квестов поиграл, но вроде понимаю, как они должны работать. Здесь все загадки элементарны и решение очевидно с первого взгляда, но приходится проделывать слишком много действий, чтобы их преодолеть. Типа ходьбы с одного края локации в другой несколько раз. Странное растягивание. Задачки несостоятельны. Есть момент, где нужно бежать от монстра, попутно разбираясь с препятствиями. Этот монстр идёт настолько быстро, что совершать действия для, например, открытия двери нужно идеально. Не терять ни секунды. Препятствий на пути 3-4. И с первого раза ты просто не можешь разобраться с ними настолько быстро, чтоб не помереть от монстра. Приходится перепроходить момент кучу раз, чтобы сначала понять как пробраться вперёд, умереть и уже только после этого сделать то же самое, но в формате спидрана. По этому уровню видно, что разработчики не понимают квесты. Или им было плевать. Игра ещё очень короткая, но не приятно-короткая, а будто обрубленная, что ещё больше портит впечатление.
This game is just about going to get a positive review for it's creativity with the past and present puzzles. Otherwise it's a clunky slow mess that really needs some updating. Also needs to relook at the save points in the game, you find yourself constantly repeating levels and dying stupidly. Otherwise it's a decent game and something different. 7/10
I sometimes wonder if Daedalic has contract clauses to have the ending of a game a certain way if you want them to publish it. Because the ending is very Daedalic. But it's well made and got so many cool ideas and uses time travelling to its advantage.
