It is typical of a run and gun game, such as Commando and Ikari Warriors, where the player has to shoot enemies and defeat a boss. Enemies include samurai, ninja and dogs.

Hard as balls but fun, minus half a star for removing the cute anime girl protagonist in this version.
It adds little variances to the core combat just enough to keep it from getting stale during a full run to rescue the princess. That said, the basic visuals and music, and bland overall level design keep it from being something special.

Pretty damn challenging but surprisingly very fun. The hidden green scrolls are extremely annoying considering you need to find all of them in order to beat the game, but it doesn't tarnish any of the exceptionally fun gameplay here. Definitely one of the best games on the console thus far.
A fun but simple action game with awful box art. The controls and music are fine and the gameplay is addicting, nothing more to say really.
