Não é tão bom quanto Clannad, é apenas fan service para quem gostou da Tomoyo e queria ver mais dela.

this shaped my life in a way i cannot explain but it's still mid

Esto.. Esto no es Card Captor Sakura...

This game is actively offensive. 90% or more of the story just straight sucks and Tomoya and Tomoyo are at best substanceless imitations of what they were in the base game. Nothing about this is worth it as a sequel to Clannad. Please skip.

Very angry about this one. My favorite character got butchered. Not to mention the game is just disgusting. I was DESPERATE to having the Tomoyo arc continue. I just couldn't have this end there. And this game PRETENDS like it continues from there. But oh noooooo. Instead of being left bitter and cold like before. I'm left screwed over. Say I'm harsh all you want. But I have a damn good reason. That is not the Tomoyo I knew and loved.

Still going through Clannad, but I decided to play Tomoyo After following the end of her route in the original game. To be honest, I had mixed feelings on Tomoyo. I didn't hate her but I wasn't particularly gushy about her like many others are. Going into Tomoyo After, I was expecting to find out more of why fans REALLY love this character and her story and... I sort of got it?

I have mixed thoughts on this whole thing. For one, I'm not crazy about the characters. Tomoya, in particular, who is somehow just kind of a meh protagonist here unlike usual. In terms of male leads in a romance/drama story, I can't say that Tomoya is all that engaging here. The rest of the cast is similar, where I liked them enough, but I couldn't really go into much about why because I didn't care enough about any of them.

Beyond that, I personally disagree with some of the morality being presented here in the story. Particularly throughout the first 3/4 of it. There was a lot of times where I was scratching my head at the logic behind some of the actions of the cast or the reasoning behind why they were doing it. I'm sure that, for some, you'll wholeheartedly flow with this type of narrative and how it is handled/presented. But, for me, I just found it almost infuriating at times and just made me question more often the quality of the writing presented here in comparison to the original Clannad game.

The real saving grace, and portion that most readers remember TA for, comes in its last quarter of the game which I won't spoil at all of course. It's a genuinely touching segment of the story that, I think, does a good job at being a closing of the curtains for Tomoyo and Tomoya's relationship. It's very emotional and had me up late at night shedding some tears. It surely saves Tomoyo After from being entirely a mediocre experience.

But just because I shed some tears to a story doesn't wholeheartedly mean everything leading up to it was suddenly great and all worth it. It wasn't. But I can at least applaud it for some of the moments here and there in this that I DID like.
