Would have loved this as a kid. As an adult, it is just an enjoyable diversion.

Limited Run Games really phoned in this re-release. There are no English instructions, so the games mechanics are just guesswork unless you google the controls. Save states and rewind are implemented, but very poorly. You have to act fast if you want to actually utilize them. This is all a shame, because the original game's sprite work is beautiful even today. The colorization is a little oversaturated, but not awful. I'd always heard good things about the original Trip World, maybe I'll pick this back up if I ever meet someone who can clearly explain how to accomplish specific goals the game sets for the player but does not explain.

an incredibly whimsical, saccharine, and beautiful platformer. truly outstanding pixel art and sound. by far one of the most eye catching and sweet games the gameboy has to offer.

the color, stage select, and sound test included in this new DX release make an already special game feel even more alive and fun to play. played 3 times straight through in about 30 minutes total and i honestly loved it more every time. will probably be coming back to this one:)

Short, sweet and most of all fun! I played most of the game without even knowing the inputs for the transformations, so that could’ve been communicated better, but then you have the in-game manual that explains it and all the neat little extras that make this a surprisingly interesting dive into the game design aspect of this game. You can beat it in an hour and the base price is a little steep for what it is, but the shortness of the experience helps to keep it fun.

If I’m completely honest, the game itself looks great but the gameplay is quite unremarkable, nothing really leaves an impact besides the music which is very catchy. It’s fun in a rather similar way to the very first kirby. A very basic, simple but ultimately fun experience.
