Cute project, but I feel like I "get it" after just a couple hours, didn't grab me and there wasn't enough going on with the combat or the story to keep me playing.

Fun tactical game that can be a great starter experience to many players, the story is nicely done and it has a good 80's vibe without being too over the top.

I just loved this game so much, I was enjoying myself every second I was playing it. It's tempting to use the word "cozy" because it definitely has those vibes but I feel like that's underselling it a bit- there's also adventure, intrigue, humor, emotions, and more. It feels a lot like a young adult graphic novel in terms of aesthetics and storytelling, which is a big compliment from me!

The biggest strength of the game is in the writing... this game is so funny! All of the different clubs being forced to compete is a great setup because it allows for all sorts of wacky characters and situations so I was always looking forwards to each new chapter to see what they'd throw at me next. All of the characters are really likeable (cartoonish in the best way) and the endgame sequence where we get to find out what happened to all of them in the future had me and my friends cracking up.

But surprisingly they don't slack off on the dramatic side of the writing and deliver a very thoughtful message as well. The stakes are established well right off the bat and the writing does make a great job of making you understand that, despite how silly the characters and the concept are, what's going on at the school is very serious to the students. The story itself is nothing groundbreaking, but it is compellingly told and comes together in a satisfying way with a nice little message.

In terms of gameplay, the actual tactics battles are very well put together- perhaps a bit simple, but the simplicity worked because it meant the even the most challenging fights were never overwhelming, and I felt like I could get through anything with a solid plan. (Hot tip: pay attention to what the objectives for the fights are and who the enemies are targeting.) I found a groove very quickly in regards to which characters I liked using and wound up breezing through a lot of the fights, but I felt smart doing it!

The only minor complaint I have for the game is that I wish there had been a bit more variety in the soundtrack- the songs that are there work well but they're rather short and since you spend a lot of time in the hub areas you will be hearing them a LOT.

I finished the game (including all of the side quests + bonus fights) in about nine and a half hours, which feels like the perfect length for a story of this type and a fair deal for the price. I do kinda wish that there were some kind of post-game where I could flex my tactics skills on a few more fights but I'm not mad that there isn't one or anything. Can't find much info on these devs but if they make another game, I'm definitely getting it.

While I think long time tactics fan will enjoy this one, it’s definitely a great starter game for the genre. With a pretty unique take on the story of being the best "you" possible and working with your team to defeat evil. You’ll find that during your journey through a season of winter stuck at school you’ll come across Demons, Psychics, the Football Team, and heck a robot horse. Well worth the cost for at least 10 hours of good writing and simple but fun turn based tactics gameplay.

Uma pérola escondida entre os jogos de estratégia por turnos. História e personagens cativantes, jogabilidade bem enxuta. Uma aula de design.

Want to experience the highs and lows of high school in a special way? It was hard enough for Alicia at the famed Wintermoor Academy before the Principal declared a snowball war between clubs! Now her club's only hope is to transform from nerdy nobodies into fantasy heroes. Unravel a reality-bending mystery with your friends and test your strategic mettle against an avalanche of colorful characters. And remember! High School is all about learning and making friends!

Wintermoor Tactics Club is a very charming, turn-based game about (essentially) a D&D club tackling a real life adventure. There's an underlying message about inclusivity and being true to yourself, but ultimately it's a cute Saturday morning cartoon type of game about the Power of Friendship! The tactics part of the game is not overly difficult, but some parts of it can offer a slight challenge.

The game offers a huge emphasis on characters and story, though the combat is also important. It's a wonderful little game that I spent a good chunk of time in, and I think it's fully worth it in the end. The story was intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat, where as the characters were all lovely and unique, with their own little quirks and styles.

The game is very much worth it even at full price. Highly recommended.
