The player chooses one of six X-Men: Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler or Dazzler. Their objective is to stop the villain Magneto from wreaking havoc on human civilization. They must fight through enemies from the comics such as an army of hundreds of Sentinels, mutant crocodiles, Reavers and supervillains such as Pyro, Blob, Wendigo, Nimrod, The White Queen, Juggernaut, and Mystique. Later, Magneto kidnaps Professor X and Kitty Pryde, prompting the heroes to go on a rescue mission. The heroes fight their way to Island M and ultimately to Magneto's base on Asteroid M where the final battle takes place.

Whooping the shit out of prone enemies in this game with friends might be the funniest thing I've ever seen.

me and my dad played this when i was six on the xbox

X-Men 97 gave me the drive to play this (I know this is based on Pryde of the X-Men but still =P)

It's a dated but fun little beat em up with great sprite work and innovative presentation with its cutscenes and voice acting for the time. I do hate that thing with old arcade games where your special moves take your health away kind of taking away some of the magic of playing as the X-Men and using their iconic powers.

This was like one of the first games I ever played, good memories though I was sad I couldn't learn the names of the bosses haha

the novelty here lies in the 6 player possibility because otherwise its a pretty standard, borderline generic playing, beat em up. seeing a cabinet with 2 screens was interesting
