future redeemed is the best dlc story in any videogame, whether it's xenoblade or any other game i've played. the characters are amazing, the gameplay is fun and addictive and the music is fantastic! everything about that game is simply perfect!

the other content this dlc pass offers is also great! masha has a great character class to offer, while ino is simply a loveable character, despite being a weaker unit in combat.

the dlc outfits are great as well! the throwback outfits are some of my favorite in the whole game! there isn't a single bad one in that collection! the swimsuits are great too, with only lanz and sena's outfits being a bit off.

[This review addresses waves two and three of the Expansion Pass, because even though Future Redeemed got its own review, it didn't make much sense to split up something this small.]

The new Hero Quests are neat but nothing special. The Hero characters themselves are fun, but the questlines don't really add much to the lore or worldbulding like the best Hero Quests in the base game do.

The new roguelike challenge battle mode is really cool though. Granted, I don't think Xenoblade Chronicles 3's combat is particularly well-suited to a roguelike system, but the way you have to balance your purchases combined with the luck involved in getting useful items to purchase makes for a rather intriguing little side modes. I played on the easiest difficulty to unlock the new costumes, but I'm sure it becomes immensely more satisfying on harder difficulties when you actually have to put thought into your builds.

40$ for them to finish the story?

not satisfactory

Wave 1:
I do not care about the items and the costumes are very basic recolors. It's a fine "thx for buying" but nothing is noteworthy.

Wave 2:
Ino and her quest are nice additions but honestly aren't that interesting outside of the references to Xenoblade 2. Feels like just another base game Hero quest TBH. Challenge mode is extremely disappointing compared to what Xenoblade 2's DLC had but it's alright. This DLC isn't bad so far but it is kinda mediocre.

Wave 3:
Another Hero that I'm not really interested in but another mode of battles is nice. I really like the costumes that reference characters from Xenoblade 1 and 2. Overall I feel like this main story DLC is lackluster due to not adding nearly as much as Xenoblade 2 did but it's not necessarily bad. Just a fairly fine addition to the game. The biggest thing which I do actually enjoy quite a lot is the new challenge mode gauntlet. It's quite fun. I kinda wish the main story got just one more wave of DLC to really push it.

Wave 4:
The new Heroes are nice but I wish we could learn their classes. As for the story expansion go read my Future Redeemed review: https://www.backloggd.com/u/DayChan/review/763400/. This was amazing!
