Really good but not as good as the first one. There are a bit too many sidequests that are, for some reason, necessary to the game's advancement. The story isnt as good as yokai watch 1's either, but it is still a very entertaining game.
Definitely an improvement from YKW 1, and the whole past & present mechanic was neat

feels unfair to compare it pokemon cos it's not really tryna be the same thing but whatever it's way better than like nearly every pokemon. cool monsters with a nice (but kinda esoteric) battle system, really chill towns with great level design, and so many little nooks and vignettes to discover. it's really charming.
my only critique is that the localisation is hamfisted; all the names for monsters and places and so on are just abysmal. really stands out in a game that is otherwise fantastic.

an underated series as a whole! If you tried 1 and didnt like it i def suggest trying 2 as it is an amazing game!
