When I was younger, I remember being amazed at the scale of the levels in Halo: CE. The second mission in particular, aptly named "Halo", was the real standout. Being able to choose your path and drive the Warthog around was amazing. I couldn't wait for the technology to catch up so we could have a seamless Halo experience from start to finish.

Halo Infinite attempts to do just that, with mixed results. Unlike other open-world games, you are not inundated with points of interest on your minimap. While playing in co-op, we found ourselves naturally stumbling upon side missions and activities to complete. Each side activity would reward you with something tangible, thus respecting your time and effort.

The overall gameplay is very tight and responsive, it feels great to play. They've also added a number of new gadgets and abilities to use, with the grappling hook being the standout. While it may seem out of place in a Halo game, it works very well and is super fun to use.

As for the story, I think they did a good job, because just like in all the other Halo games, I had no idea what was going on. Although, as @Splodey mentioned in his review, the game has a very melancholic tone and feel. I don't know if it was intentional, but it was definitely noticeable throughout the campaign.

I remember reading that the art direction they chose was a deliberate nod to the visuals of Halo: CE. I think it worked really well and I hope they stick with it for future releases.

The game can look nice at times, but it's easy to tell that it's a cross-gen release. The lack of raytracing on the PC and XSX was a bit of a disappointment, as the game could have benefited greatly from it.

I had very low expectations for this Halo title. One of the reasons I picked up the Xbox Series X was to play it, only to have the game delayed multiple times and launched in a poor state. The lack of co-op at launch was the biggest sin of all. However, they seem to have improved the game a lot since launch. I think all fans of Halo should give it a try.

Playing a new Halo on PC was great, especially with the grappling hook as a new addition. The open world was an understandable change for the franchise, but did not improve anything for me, I mostly stuck to just the main quests, and these suffered under the time spent on the open world. The quests themselves aren't bad, but they are very few and end way too early, barely getting the story going. It also continues a story started in books and the spinoff Halo Wars 2, which doesn't work for such a large entry.

Thank god the campaign is better than Halo 5 but the multiplayer is very predatory and lacking because of 343...I have to force myself to play to a nonexistent battle pass to where I just abandoned the game honestly

A game that really feels like an assembly line of contractors made it. There's no vision. The open world is terrible and pointless. The villain is laughable, it ends with Master Chief honoring a war criminal for being a soldier.
Grappling hook is fun, guns feel and sound good, music is oddly pretty forgettable.

Open world Halo game was a mistake. The story was great, but the replayability is ruined by a mostly empty world. Felt like a watered-down Ubisoft open world (which is already terrible.)

Multiplayer has made a comeback and is now the best entry in the series.

This game is always one update away from being the perfect Halo.

Muito boa a jogabilidade. Bastante divertido.

Master Chief but he has feelings??!!

Jogabilidade ÓTIMA. Mapa HORRÍVEL

Absolutely loved so much about this game. The campaign is really top notch, from the acting, the interesting story beats and somehow managing to make sense after Halo 5 (which personally was a weird game and really confusing at times). Only problem story wise was that this felt more of a Halo 7 than a Halo 6, as there were large events that happened between Halo 5 and this game. Really loved the route they went with this journey and can't wait to see what's next. Spoiler warning for the end here - I wonder if they will do an expansion called Halo: The Endless to deal with the major cliffhanger at the end? Guess we shall see!
Multiplayer wise, this is the most fun I've had since Halo Reach (which is my personal favorite Halo game of all time). I will probably be jumping back into this section of the game from time to time.

Jednak 343 potrafi zrobić dobre Halo

holy shit i'm master chief!!!

Great story, great gameplay thats it

So bugged compared to all the other Halo games which is a let down

Not as bad as people think it is.

Campaign:
Fantastic gameplay with lazy level design. And give me back split screen 343.

For a mainline Halo game, I didn't expect this one to have such a melancholy tone. The agonies of the development team can really be felt when playing the game, but despite that, it's the most solid Halo title 343 has made so far.

The gameplay feels great, shooting and traversing the environment is very smooth. Initially, I was skeptical about the addition of the grapple hook, but to my surprise it worked great and added a lot to both combat and exploration.

Same skepticism rings true for the hub like nature of the world. Again, I was surprised how well it worked here, none of the side activities ever felt intrusive, nor did the HUD get cluttered with "points of interest". Most of them were found naturally by just exploring the world.

Co-op worked decently, though we encountered some soft locks, luckily restarting the game or mission fixed most of these issues.

It's close to a really great game, it just needed that extra push to make it shine. Hopefully with the change in leadership at 343, they will rally together and make the new Halo entry their best one yet.

Ready or Not: Tático, com foco em combate realista.

Duração do Jogo:

did not need to be open world. multiplayer is fun as hell tho.

Really fun gameplay in a vaccum, but very disappointing on most other fronts compared to it's predecessors.

Could've been something but fell to the lust of "Open world"

This game's story is so dogshit. I have no idea why people gas this up when half of the story is setting up the next game.

The cat ears were hard to get

It's a shame this game had such a weak launch because it pretty much feels like a game worth picking up with what it currently has to offer years after release. I always found the multiplayer here to be very satisfying even during the game's abysmally small & lackluster launch, now you can feel some variety to be had with forge and the introduction of new maps & modes. I initially played single player when it launched on game pass but I never really felt too inclined to put money for another month, when I finally bought the single player on sale I was kind of surprised to see how close I was to the end on my first save doing a new playthrough with a friend (albeit on Easy now & with the tank gun glitch because I was primarily playing to help them 100% the achievements). In a lot of ways calling this game Infinite as opposed to 6 makes a lot of sense when you consider how radically different the single player experience was changed and how strong the reaction was to seeing running on reveal (very much how I imagined how strongly people reacted to reach Reach and its gimmicks pre and post launch). The campaign being "open world" on a halo ring is an interesting premise for sure however I understand the complaints on the lack of variety in map design coming off of the older titles being set in large scale war zones across many different environments. I enjoyed Weapon's and Echo-216's mindsets and personalities reacting and at time clashing themselves with Master Chief's monotone and stern personality it definitely made for some good dialogue. I don't think I understand the complaint of gameplay being repetitive with the amount of side quests and objectives the single player has to offer because it feels like most Halo single player experiences have always been some variety of Moving to objective to objective and not being allowed to move forward until all enemies are dead in an area. I think the only real miss is that they're still pricing single player at full price (60USD) when two thirds of the game is already available for free and there really isn't enough content to have justified the price range like the older titles, I am pretty much aware this is an business executive's choice but the game should have been 20 bucks at most if they really wanted to convince people who aren't big fans of the series to want to go out of their way to buy it. All positives this game has to offer and yet the possibilities of what could have been still affect this game's reputation, whether you're bummed they cut split screen, neutered the single player multiplayer rewards system, introduced microtransactions yet again(which I know is the biggest criticism for an astounding amount of people), and not even mentioning the looming feeling of how they already gave/given up with their initial post launch content plans and other inconsistencies from now and then. At the end of the day though I'm not someone whose been overly critical to the point of rage consuming this game so I would still give myself the opportunity to play it and recommend others who are unsure of picking up what very could well be their first Halo experience.

Fantastic classic single player.

Multiplayer still doesn't let you select game mode 2 years after release. Sad.

I wanted to recommend this game, it is actually fun, but for some reason, it keeps crashing in the middle of matches and it goes completely black when in fullscreen mode, which forces me to play in windowed mode. My computer is above the minimum requirements, Windows 10 is up to date, and the drivers are updated as well, so I really do not know what the issue is.
