Am I missing something here? While context is important for why this game is popular, I found the overall game to be very choppy and messy. Shit happens and that’s it, no explanations and it can be irritating sometimes. The story is easily the best part, and gameplay/soundtrack are cool in relation to the game, but idk I’m not feeling it at all.

This is my favourite game of all time. i have played it countless times, but to this day i haven't 100% it. the first save has around 300h on my PS2, before i figured out the Don Tonberry method of leveling, and still far away of everything finished. my current one has 100h and i'm close to finishing some sphere grids, but it's two days of grinding and months without touching it. now for the game:
The story of questioning dogmas and traditions, fighting against authority and your own destiny chosen by others, the romance, the lightness, the tears, and the CGI cutscenes that were mindblowing at that era. i couldn't ask for anything more from my favourite game of all time
it's not however without problems, magic is useless super late, Lulu and Kimahri are just there, cause you never use them after the main story, the post game grind, the 200 lightining dodges(which i used a script to autododge in my current save, cause i'm not going through that again) and especially the super bosses, the game becomes a mixture of Quick Hit, Mix, Attack Heels, Entrust, and sometimes you put a Banishing Blade or a Grand Summon into Anima Oblivion there. it's pretty repetitive and it gets far more boring than other entries on the franchise. if we get a faithful Remake, i hope it's not that faithful and it fixes those problems. if it's a full blown remake like FFVII got, then i got nothing to worry about, just a new way of experiencing my favourite game
