The greatest game on the NES imo. Literally flawless.

Just finished my first play through of this game. Worst game I’ve played in years and I actively hated every minute of gameplay.

@drawingtoptarp I get not liking the game, but the worst game you've played in years is crazy tbh. What did you hate so much about it?

@2manyW I mean it’s probably just because it’s a product of its time, but I’ve played other better games from the same time period. A lot of it mainly boils down to the game kind of being unfair. A lot of the enemies and bosses feel like they spam a lot and the bosses especially are artificially difficult since they don’t give you much of a warning if any that they are going to do something. Also a lot of the level designs did not feel fun to traverse either from the platforming being not great or the enemy placement making the platforming harder than it needed to be.

The different powers were all cool, but I felt that they all ran out too fast and I don’t think I used them all that much since I wanted to save power. When they did run out of power, refilling them felt much too tedious and like a chore. I also wanted to pull my hair out when I got to a boss and had to kill myself since I didn’t have enough power for the one ability that hurts them.

Most of my problems probably just boil down to either me needing to get good, or me being too used to games from the last 20 years and not enough experience in this era of gaming. But I still think it wasn’t super beginner friendly

@drawingtoptarp Honestly, while this is imo the easiest mega man, the game can be bs at times. Crash Man's stage is really annoying without the metal blade, and the wily stages have some annoying parts, but personally, i found it fun to overcome them, but ig that's just me. If you were doing a mega buster only run, the bosses do get annoying, but they usually only have 1 or 2 attacks, so its not too hard to learn them, plus if you find the bosses weakness, they go down really easily, i would recommend going in with full health just in case though.
Refilling the weapon ammo is a bit of an issue, but they don't drop so inconsistently that its practically impossible to get it. Every-time you start a new level, all your weapon ammo is refilled, so i didn't suffer from it too much anyway (also in the wily stages, they give out weapon capsules quite often). Also for the harder parts of the game, you have the E-Tanks, which replenish your health and make bosses way easier.
It aint a skill issue tho, some people just like some games better than others

@2manyW Fair points. I guess the game just wasn’t for me for the reasons I had. Honestly I was just trying to meme with my initial comment lol
