The combat is strategic and engaging, the characters bounce off of each other so well, the connected world is great, and the side content is some of my favorite in gaming. Those last two points, along with the badge system lifted from Paper Mario, is what caused this to triumph over Bowser's Inside Story in becoming my new favorite RPG.
