3 Houses was my first entry into the series and more specifically a series that I had written off for quite a while due to believing it was unappealing personally with it's tropes and realistic depictions of war time but with Anime characters. My initial hype came from the love I had for the house leader Claude so with my first playthrough I ended up choosing the golden deer on Normal.

The gameplay is quite fun but on lower difficulties such as Normal and even Hard, after a while if you even remotely know what you're doing, the game's levels and missions end up being a cakewalk. After my Golden Deer Playthrough I ended up going through the Blue Lions which was Fantastic in it's story, and Black Eagles and the Church Route as well.

My last and hopefully final playthrough of the game was on Maddening mode and I wanted to revisit the game on Golden Deer, and like most fire emblems maddening mode is a mixed bag of complex difficulty, cheesing the AI units into attack patterns, and pure luck.

All in all I really enjoyed this and I look forward to the next Fire Emblem that comes out, though even after all the routes I still felt the game was missing just 'something' extra to make it feel complete. Here's my ratings for each route
