probably just the worst parts of 2 distilled into a final product; levels are much less unique and memorable, in 2 each level felt unique to the robot master and used a variety of mechanics and atmospheric differences that made them unique and memorable, with the wily stages taking all of that and putting it into a final gauntlet. the levels in 3 dont really feel as unique or inspired as 2's, with repeating enemies and weird mixture of location and atmosphere that doesnt really fit with the corresponding robot master. its also a lot more dickish? like, theres a lot more spikes and precision platforming than anything in 2; 2 does generally dare you to play smarter, not harder, which might be why i end up "skipping" parts of the challenging levels, but i think that's fun. that's also not really the case here BUT i do think the ways it uses the rush jets and stuff is cool.

bosses are a lot more annoying, they hit harder and are harder to hit, which is kinda dumb. the difficulty in 2 was kinda perfect so it feeling more artificially harder wasnt very fun. snake man is the fucking worst that boss is a nightmare. THE FUCKING DOC ROBOT STAGES ARE AWFUL!!! ripping the mega man 2 bosses into 3 does not work with how much more infuriaing the damage scaling is in 3. i really dont like mini bosses in classic megaman but this is basically just 2 normal bosses in one stage which is insane.

wily stages were alright i got through them quickly protoman is cool but his fights are dumb. pretty weak sequel but theres a few small things to be picked up here that could work.
