Best reveal trailer easily. Everyone is preparing to fight and then out of nowhere GALEEM IS SLICED IN HALF. The best part is that they show the black feather as well as play the first notes of One-Winged Angel. When I saw this I completely lost my shit and started yelling. It was so fucking amazing. I had played FF7R earlier in the year and it became one of my favorite games and Sephiroth became one of my favorite villains as well, so this meant a lot. I also loved the way the rest of the trailer went. Just paying homage to FF7 and just a shit ton of awesome references. Aside from that Sephiroth is so damn fun man. He has so much range and he is just the embodiment of my style, I love it. He's also a great addition because Ultimate is pretty short on villains so this was a very deserving pick.

I remember the day Joker got revealed, it was The Game Awards and I decided to watch it instead of sleeping for school the next day. It starts off like normal and I thought "Oh I've seen this game before, I wonder what they're gonna show". Then they showed the smash letter and I was so insanely surprised because Persona wasn't on a nintendo console and it's just an insane 3rd party to pick. That reveal showed anyone from anywhere was possible. Eventually it led me to properly get into Persona and then it ended up becoming my favorite game of all time. So yeah it was pretty cool at first but now I am so incredibly grateful. Personal connection aside, Joker is really fun and is a top tier for sure. I also love the references back to the series.

Banjo-Kazooie was a big part of my childhood so seeing them made me jump out of my seat. Plus the reveal was just so damn good. They're also super fun to play as and I play them a lot.

I really love Tekken 7 so this was yet another great choice. His reveal was super memorable and pretty funny. I really love his stage and all 50 TRACKS he got in smash. I really liked how faithful they remained to his moveset. I adore how well they represented him and Tekken as a whole.

Phenomenal pick. Minecraft didn't have as big of an impact as it did for most others, but I still love it. His reveal is absolutely iconic, AND he was the only reveal to break twitter. His stage and costumes are great references that I really love. He's a little hard to play but once I got used to him I really liked him.

Sora getting into smash is an achievement by itself. It's also pretty amazing that Sora getting in was a chance meeting just like the creation of KH AND they were only gonna do 5 fighters for FP Vol.2 but they decided to add him specifically. Then to top it all off Sora is fun as hell to play as. This was a perfect finale. I would give it a 10 but I personally wanted other characters way more, however you cannot deny they handled him amazingly well.

A very deserving addition to the roster. DQ was so influential and it's about time they got a proper representative. Hero is pretty fun to play as, with most games being pretty different thanks to his down b. Also him getting banned in tournaments was really fucking funny.

Very cool character. I love seeing fighting games get some attention in smash so I'm pretty happy with this. Terry is also really fun to play as with a really cool stage as well.

This weekly discourse for Byleth is also funny. Not something I wanted and it was a shit ass reveal though and I will not forgive them for that. Literally just a cutscene from the game. The saving grace here is that 3H is one of my favorite games so I didn't mind it as much as other people. 3H music is pretty fire so I'm pleased with that and the stage is also pretty cool. Plus Byleth is pretty fun to play as.

It's pretty funny to see the Smash discourse around them every week ngl. Not something that I necessarily wanted but if Byleth got in after they said they wouldn't do it then it's only fair they got in as well. However they're very fun to play as and also bring some more attention to Xenoblade which is very awesome.

I agree this should've been included as one of the newcomers and came at launch, but I think Arms deserves a little bit more love. Interesting character to play and had a really good reveal trailer too.
