One of the best 3D platformers, gets so much right about the genre, and the items being used by the right stick quickly goes from kind of awkward at first to completely intuitive and genius. I love how different monkeys have whole bios and personalities and names, and how catching each one feels unique from every other. It makes the traditional item collecting of 3D platformer games feel entirely new and exciting. Also the music is some of the best. Cutscenes are corny in a way I can appreciate.

This is kind of a minor thing but I wish it didn't put 100% behind getting gold at every stage's time trial. I just don't like time trials in these kinds of games.
