Yeah Monster Hunter world did a much better job with multiplayer dependence by getting rid of village/hub quests and just making everything singleplayer and multiplayer (except for Safi and Kulve)

World is definitely a game I want to get into eventually

Oh yeah, it's a blast. Also Rise will scale Hub quests for solo as well. It's just you can't do Village multiplayer. Honestly Rise is probably the better game to get into, it seems much more accessible. World is much simpler but there are so many tutorials and important mechanics that it can become overwhelming. I think Rise is taking what worked from both this game and World to make a better experience
