For clarity this isn't for an actual second playthrough, I just wanted to write a slightly more serious review on HuniePop because I imagine this game doesn't really get many of those if we're being quite honest with ourselves here.
Gonna be real blunt here, the gameplay fucking sucks. The puzzle system itself isn't inherently bad, though it is basic as fuck. Think of it as an even more minimalistic Candy Crush but with more women bitching at you or moaning in your ear. The big problem is that the meter at the bottom to successfully complete dates grows exponentially regardless of whether you succeeded in a previous date or not. It gets to a point where your skills are not going to be enough to counter both the amount of gifts you'll have to give and just pure luck based circumstances.
The worst of it is easily the puzzles you have to do when having sexual intercourse with one of the various girls. You technically can't lose, but you'll wish you could. In the sex puzzles, the meter constantly decreases. You need to keep comboing as quick as you can otherwise you won't bring the bitch to orgasm and if that isn't the most accurate depiction of sex in a video game, well I wouldn't know because I'm a fat, ugly Hispanic man who writes shitty game reviews on this website. Honestly the moaning during these sections is more of a turnoff than a turn on. When you're trying to concentrate on getting combos, hearing "Fuck, right there," isn't exactly what I'd consider pleasant. I played on the 18+ Patch for the record, and I can tell you... the art isn't that great for the actual porn. Sorry artist for this game.
Other than that, the game's basically just a basic dating sim. You buy gifts for the girls to boost your Hunie so that you can raise your stats, and you need to go on dates to get Money to get those gifts, not sure how that makes sense because usually you're wasting money on women during dates but maybe I'm missing something. Other than that you can get the girls drunk to get more Hunie from asking and answering questions, and feed them food. Not a very interesting process but it does lead to my favorite part of the game, the writing.
This game's sense of humor is just fucked up enough for me to be entertaining without fully disgusting me. A number of the women feel kind of realistic based on interactions I've had in real life, though that could be a little bit of a stretch. Either way, a lot of the dialogue is charming and filled with crude remarks and jokes at both the player and the girl's expense.
At the end of the day, what I'm saying is that this game is dogshit, but it's also funny dogshit. You're better off watching a walkthrough rather than getting premature arthritis while trying to have sex with 2D Women who don't exist.
