Drawing directly on the James Bond aesthetic, with a more humorous twist, I Expect You To Die is an enjoyable adventure title. Its puzzles are generally well constructed, with enough information to understand the ideas – something particularly necessary in a VR game, where the sharper immersion prevents optimal thinking. The game does a good job of making the gripping mechanics intuitive, although there are still some residual concerns, particularly the machine gun rotation in the first bonus case. Thus, I Expect You To Die is carried by a solid artistic and technical production. One may regret some elements of limited use, such as the possibility to make objects hover, breaking somewhat the immersion: its only real use is during the puzzle of the submarine with the fragments of paper to be assembled. Similarly, the presence of money undoubtedly contributes to the construction of the levels, but brings nothing to the table, except to bribe an assassin once. But these criticisms hardly detract from the title, which is a VR essential.
