Like the previous titles, the core of the classic Bomber gameplay is here and works well. What truly separates this game from the rest, however, is the shockingly great presentation.

The spritework is some of the series best, especially from an animation standpoint. The level of attention put into the environments is astonishing; parts of certain levels are interactable and the transitions when entering stages are creative. The anime cutscenes give off a Mega Man 8 level of corniness that you can't help but find charming. The soundtrack is incredibly crisp and features some of June Chikuma's best contributions to the series.

The two modes besides Story Mode are fun too. You of course have Battle Mode, and it's arguably the series' best, allowing you to play other Hudson All-Stars like Bonk and Master Higgins as well as giving access to play with ten players locally.

Master Game is also a neat little extra mode that tests the player if they can make it to 20 floors without dying. Not terribly ground-breaking, but still entertaining and greatly appreciative considering previous games usually have a Story and Battle Mode and nothing else.

If you're looking for the best Bomberman experience, you can't go wrong with this one.
