If you have friends who share your odd interest, the game does have multiplayer support for convoys. As an SCS Software game, like Euro Truck Simulator 2, 90% of the game will be locked behind paid DLC. Thankfully, the DLC is on sale more times than not, but they're definitely additions you'll want if the game interests you.
