On the first times i played this, i liked more than the original X. There's some nice differences like you're being able to select a weapon and still be able to use the buster, like on the PS1 games, giving a lot of utility for armored armadillo charged weapon, i also really like how the dash part is on the flame mammoth stage, because this way i can pass through there while there's lava. Unfortunately i don't like some of these differences , like you're only being able to get the spark mandril's stage heart tank if you already have boomerang kuwanger weapon, so i have mixed feelings about these changes. Unfortunately they missed the chance to already start the game with dash and then have an air dash to find, or even something completely new, and the helmet is still useless for anything besides some specific upgrades. But they also changed the design of sigma stages, and i appreciate that a lot, gives you a new way to play through them.

As for what really makes me have the original X as my favorite, it's because the game became really really easy here, every boss is a pushover, and they messed up the dash button. I also like the original graphics better but i still like the changed style, but i really don't think the OST is as good here, i really like some remixes like storm eagle and sigma stage 1, but most of the originals are so much better.

I still like this a lot, they also expanded the original story, Vile mode is really good(i just don't know why the hell his theme song is played in every stage), it's a good way to replay the original game, but most of the time i prefer to just replay the original and that's it
