Just wanted to come up with a quick and short review to sum up my thoughts in a nutshell, as I've replayed this in the last year.

I think Uncharted is a little underrated. The story and characters are endlessly exciting and smartly written, something I think naughty dog really understands. Their stories often attribute a lot to the feeling I have after leaving a game, and once completing this one, I felt very satisfied. The gameplay, which at times could be frustrating, was just simple enough to where I couldn't really fault some of the more annoying segments, where enemies are either too overwhelming, or when ammo pickups are scarce.

The best parts of this game really stood out the most to me, being the parkour and puzzle solving aspects, especially the entire climax of the game with The Descendants. A lot of this game's story feels very inspired by Indiana Jones, which I see as an absolute positive. The Descendants being a pretty major twist to the game towards the end really mirror's every Indiana Jones film having some sort of twist at the end, and the writing in regards to the characters feels a lot like uncovering a mystery alongside Indy. Regardless of its inspiration, this game really becomes its own thing with its characters and gameplay providing a nice stepping stone for the rest of the series.

I will die on the hill that this game is slightly underrated compared to the rest.
