Oof, Sonic 4: Episode 1 was a major disappointment. It tries to bring back that classic Sonic feel but falls flat. The controls are clunky, the levels are confusing, and it just doesn't capture the magic of the old games. There are a few cool moments, and the graphics are decent, but overall this is just a mediocre attempt to cash in on nostalgia. Diehard Sonic fans might get something out of it, but most will probably want to skip this one.
