Fujitsu FM Towns/FM Towns Marty Tasting Menu

A small selection of games for Fujitsu's FM Towns personal computer and FM Towns Marty console. You can find disc images on Internet Archive via Redump for use the emulator of your choice. I recommend UNZ, Tsugaru, or a MiSTer FPGA if you have one.

The FM Towns was bursting with potential as a proprietary PC variant plus IBM PC Compatible. It broke new ground in many ways, particularly by being the first computer to come standard with a CD-ROM drive. Boasting incredible power for the time, being rivalled only by the Sharp X68000, the FM Towns thrived on near-perfect arcade ports. At a launch price of ¥400,000 the FM Towns was a hard sell, particularly with the dominance of the NEC PC-98 in the Japanese computer market. Later rereleased as a console, the FM Towns Marty, for half the price, it was too little too late despite being the first 32-bit console.

Most FM Towns titles are available on other platforms, particularly the Sharp X68000, though some arcade ports are arguably best on the FM Towns.
