An excellent CRPG with a brilliantly detailed setting and fantastic characters.

I really enjoyed this. It took me a bit to get into initially but once I was in, I was hooked. I enjoyed the main story arc of following Eothas, and the faction arcs were all tied into the main story in a way that I found was interesting. It gave me a lot to think about and I felt like my choices mattered, which is the important thing.

I wonder if the combat mechanics are too much for me? I played in turn-based mode which I certainly enjoyed a lot more than RTwP, but I felt like there were so many mechanics going on that I never really knew if I was taking advantage of what was available to me. I certainly wasn't taking advantage of my character builds nor did I really understand the impact of my choices at level-up.

I suspect a lot of this design is based on the Infinity Engine nostalgia and that it might be done quite a bit differently in a modern context.

In any case I highly enjoyed my time with the game. I was sad to hear that Avowed won't be following up from this story but it's probably good that it will be it's own thing. I'm still really looking forward to exploring part of Eora in first-person.
