Guncaster is frustrating because on the one hand playing an anthropomorphic dadrock dragon is an inherently inspired idea– but on the other– everything about Guncaster is overpowered and overstuffed.

You start out of the gate turning most enemies to tomato sauce with your claws and pistol so upgrading your arsenal just makes you do that slightly faster. Between the guns and magic, you have plenty of options but in the chaos of turning things into red paste, there isn't much difference between using your auger rifle to flatter a pond of enemy combatants or using a high level spell.

It's fun to try once in awhile but it's way too busy to be satisfying.
