There is so much to love about this game. The combat - the most important part - feels AMAZING. The animations are incredibly fluid, the controls feel responsive and allows for just enough skill expression to feel deep, even if not as much as the other installments in the saga.

The story works, i think? Lots of interesting ideas that were sabotaged by a bad execution. Take the whole social commentary as an example: it's a good concept on paper, on execution it feels kinda immature and gets mudded with all the edginess, like everything else in the game, including Dante's personality, Kat's character, Vergil, Mundus... everything.

But everything else compensates for it. The level design is SO GOOD. The scenery transforms around as you traverse around in high speed, fighting monsters with a soundtrack so energetic, creating a wonderfuly polished and unique experience.

I am still to play a hack'n slash that feels like this one. Not that other games of the genre aren't good, but this just has a whole vibe that works really well. I hope Ninja Theory gets to work on another action game after they are done with the Hellblade series.
