The combat was enjoyable until later in the game, when enemies started becoming too tanky for their own good. However, I think they did a really good job of “translating” the original game’s combat to a traditional console as a whole. Just like the original, you find the pins/pin types you like and stick with them. And that’s fine. The story is oddly paced, with stretches of nothing then BAM a huge info dump. The characters are great, though. Fret is my boy. The music is also top notch. I will say, Rindo’s power got to be a little obnoxious towards the end, even though it fits with the story.

I eventually turned it to Easy and started skipping combat in the last 10% or so. Overall, really good game, but not up to the original. A bit unfair maybe, as the original is truly spectacular, but it is what it is.
