The first GTA game that was fully HD.
Back in the day, I spent many hours in this rendition of Liberty City hanging out with my friends, bowling, crashing every single car because the driving was very bonkers...Those were the days, I tell you.
However, playing this entry in 2023 feels quite different after I removed my rose tinted glasses. This game was a victim of the early 2000's color palette, meaning you'll only see blues, greys or browns through the whole experience (which suits the game well, since the main inspiration is New York).
The shooting mechanics/sound effects are great, but the driving feels awful compared to the one implemented in the sequel a few years later.
That being said, the only thing that drove me to play this game again was the story. Probably the best one out of the GTA franchise due to the darkness and realism (mostly) of it's characters.
