The story starts and finishes strong but drags in the third act. So many puzzles are tied to locked doors that it becomes a cliché by the end. The puzzles are mostly fine, but if you've played the first two games, there's not much new in this entry.

This is widely considered the best Layton game, and that is probably true. I was just expecting a bit more given the game's reputation.
