The new TMNT is a pitch perfect recreation of the arcade classics from 30 years ago. It succeeds at doing exactly what it intends, but I can't help but wonder if it could have been updated a bit more. Character movement, while authentic, feels stiff by modern standards. Jumps also feel floaty. While less noticeable in the beginning, these issues becomes magnified as the game gets more difficult and attacks become harder to dodge.

Like most beat 'em ups, it's much more fun playing with other people than solo. It's a great fit on Xbox Game Pass and is easy to drop into a game with strangers for the full multiplayer experience.
