Okay, I think I found that missing spark: the soundtrack. It's great, but at the same time, it's lacking. There are good remixes: the NSMB2 Athletic/Ground remix, Gear Getaway's remix, the Mario 3 Medley, Pac-Man Club Mix, Ice Cream Island, Mysterious Murasame Castle Medley, and more. I just wish the stages had more than 2 songs in them. Also sucks that Smash Run has the best remixes and can't be used in the stages.
