Fall Guys is fantastic from a gameplay perspective; it always has been. Some people will dismiss it as a flash-in-the-pan game akin to Flappy Bird or Among Us, but there's much more meat here than it gets credit for. It's the rare multiplayer platformer that embraces the awkwardness of having a bunch of players running around trying to reach/accomplish a goal, usually in a competitive manner but occasionally working together. It would be a 5-star game if it weren't for the quality of life decreases instituted by Epic Games since it went free-to-play.

Fall Guys' menus since its f2p transition have become a nightmare; its riddled with popups trying to sell you various costumes and emotes using every trick in the book to squeeze as much money from you as possible. Multiple currencies, licensed skins that target children, limited time events, and good old fashioned FOMO. It's a shame because this game was such pure fun in its original state. The only real improvement is crossplay across all platforms, although the game now requires Epic Games' launcher to play on PC.

I would still recommend Fall Guys if you have multiple friends to play with online and if you have the self control not to overspend on cosmetics. I'd be more charitable if the game had launched in its current state, but it's hard to go back to eating beef jerky when you've had filet mignon. A once-beautiful game that was unfortunately kneecapped.
