Cali 2 takes what made Caligula 1 good and cranks it to 100 while also addressing the faults the previous entry had.
You know what I consider an amazing sequel? An amazing sequel is one where not only do you improve on your formula while keeping it fresh but also one where you almost paradoxically stick to your roots and retroactively improve on your first entry. The connections between both entries are done wonderfully, stroke of genius type deal, especially a certain character (if you've played 2 you'll know who I'm talking about).
The main character is still a boring self insert but this time around that hardly matters because Kii might as well be the main character who, unlike aria, has an actual super compelling character arc that's super well interwoven into the arcs of everyone else AND even Myu from the previous entry??? This goes for most of the cast honestly, it's quite remarkable how cohesive it all is and how relevant it feels, everyone is human, everyone matters, all their stories FEEL real. I could go on rambling about how much I like the new Go Home Club but it's better to just see it yourself.
I do have some minor grievances and while the combat has been improved quite a bit it's still kinda... so-so, but it all feels very minor compared to everything this game sets out to accomplish and does so while completely knocking it out of the park. Play it.

Also the music, my god the music, this is the track that plays on the very FIRST dungeon
