The cool part is the “clue” board, where the player must correctly arrange scraps of evidence. The hints are elusive enough that you have find the connections yourself. But once that chapter is over, Life is Strange is a long slog with conceited characters and convenient plot devices – a bizarre mix of Heathers, Memento, The Butterfly Effect, and Law & Order: SVU. The game patronizes you with “Your decision will impact the future!” prompts instead of creating a space with natural persistence.
