Yes, the game was deviant from the stealthy nature of the past games. Nevertheless, its deviation was actually well-implemented and I think it was narratively justified considering that Sam is no longer considered as part of Third Echelon and is more vengeance-focused.
The game suffered from a horrible launch. Disregarding all its launch problems, AC: Unity is actually a decent game and was truly a "next-gen" AC game.
