Overall, I would definitely consider the 'Day' stages to be pretty fun overall. A bit heavy on trial and error, and the controls do feel a bit off in places (Sonic's sensitivity feels a bit too high and the drift feels too loose), but as far as being the first game with the Boost gameplay (in it's current form, anyway), I can still appreciate and respect what it does well and I can definitely enjoy and have fun with these stages.
That said, I really don't care for the Werehog stages, which take up at least half of the game if not more. Admittedly I haven't played very hack 'n slash/beat 'em up games of this sort so I can't really compare it to others, but gameplay of these stages just all around feel like a slow, basic platformer with monotonous, repetitive fighting sections, and in general these stages consistently just go on for too long and really bog down the experience as a whole.
On top of that, there's also the whole medal collecting portion of the game that really bogs down the structure and pace for me.
Overall, this is a good game to replay for the Day stages in particular, but I don't really have much motivation to replay it as a whole. Or any of the night stages, for that matter.
