I never got to play the original "Super Mario RPG" so I'm grateful that this remaster/remake exists. It was a blast to play through. I did find some aspects of it a little confusing and outdated, but I was happy that the team decided to be as faithful to the original game as much as possible. It was endlessly charming, and so much fun.

My only real problem with it is that the difficulty is a little bit silly. I was able to pretty much obliterate anyone throughout the main story. I could defeat almost any regular enemy in one hit, and most bosses (aside from the final one) I could defeat within three turns. But then when I went to challenge the post-game, the difficulty had suddenly gone WAY up. It didn't matter too much to me since I didn't really have much of an interest in the post-game anyway, but it definitely made me not want to bother with it at all. Still, I'm happy the huge difficulty spike was saved for after the main story was finished, that way people who actually want to 100% everything can have a real challenge.

Overall, I found this game to be a lot of fun, even despite my problem with the difficulty. It's cute, fun, and charming; a nice short RPG for us RPG fans that don't want to spend 90 hours on a single game anymore. And for that, I am thankful.

Also, I finally understand why people wanted Geno to be in Smash so bad, and I fully agree with them.
