NEO: The World Ends With You is a game with incredibly strong direction. This is a game that if fully realized in just about every possible way. The art is incredibly stylized and unique, the story is gripping and emotional with some of the most lovable and memorable characters who I came to adore with all my heart, and the soundtrack is one of the best I've heard in a while, I've started listening to the soundtrack while at work and it still hits just as hard as when I first heard it in game. I love so much about this game, it will stand out in my memory for a long time to come.

However, it's important to note that this isn't a game for everyone. It's a unique JRPG that features systems that might not hit everyone's fancy. For me, I wasn't a huge fan of the combat or the RNG pin reward system. I found the combat a little too frustrating for my liking, especially by late game, I ended up hating most of the enemies I had to fight (I particularly hated the chameleon and the mammoth noise). And the pin system, while very interesting, got boring for me around halfway through the game, I just didn't have any desire to collect all the pins, so I wasn't going to bother. It seems like a good chunk of this game's mechanics are built around completion, so if you're a completionist you might love this game, but it just ended up being a turn off for me personally.

Still, even though I wasn't a huge fan of the primary mechanics of NEO: TWEWY, I absolutely adored everything else. I still haven't played the original, but after playing this, I have a massive desire to now. Let's hope we might get another title in the future, even with the unfortunate poor sales.
