"A Plague Tale" is a really fresh and original series of games with a very intriguing concept and interestingly designed mechanics that hit those areas of gameplay that are insignificant for other titles. In this respect, it is a very interesting game, providing a lot of new experiences and unusual solutions to puzzles or battles with opponents. Unfortunately, this is not enough when we want to gain the player's full interest for, say, 15 hours. Because in terms of plot, both of these games are not particularly impressive. Yes, the main storyline itself is great and engaging. The idea for these rats and the entire game mechanics associated with it are impressive. But for a while. Because when all this becomes familiar to us, we notice that the plot itself does not have much more to offer us and the game becomes quite repetitive.

The second installment, after a great start, promises the player quite a lot. It raises the bar, slightly improves and diversifies familiar mechanics, but the biggest difference between the two games is the graphics. "Requiem" is truly a beautiful game that made me stop and admire the views many times. The character design itself also looks much better. Visually, we also notice a big jump here. The game's plot is also very engaging from the beginning and we can believe that it won't be a repeat of the fun. Unfortunately, the above-mentioned repetition eventually creeps in, and the finale itself does not provide satisfaction, on the contrary. I don't think we need another part, although we can probably expect it.

And I don't want to seem like a hater here, because "A Plague Tale: Requiem" is a really good game that provides pleasant gameplay. And thanks to interesting characters, we want to get to know the next chapters of this story. However, it cannot be denied that with such a fresh and interesting concept, we could have expected a little more. And in the end, we got a proper game, which, despite being a bit disappointing, should remain in the player's memory for a long time.

It is worth adding that the French dubbing really adds to the atmosphere.
