I would never hunt in real life, but I really like this game (enough to have played it for over 1,000 hours).
Action junkies will find it slow, but actually the more you learn about the habits and favoured locations of the various animals, the less time you'll waste finding or waiting for them. Similarly, the better you get at making a kill shot, the less time you'll waste tracking wounded animals. It rewards patience, effort and planning.
The base game is good for many hours, but the DLC reserves and weapons do add new challenges, new prey and some wonderful scenery.
