The middle child of the trilogy, which is often overlooked. That's a shame, because I actually found this game to be the best in terms of narrative quality. The pacing is very good, and the game itself is not that long. The story gets going quickly and presents a whole range of new, interesting characters. The decisions are really important in this game and actually heavily impact the course of the game. One decision at the end of the first act determines the entire course of the second act and therefore also the ending. I've never seen that in this form before. The battle system has also been greatly improved, but it couldn't have been worse than in Witcher 1^^ I think that fans who only started with the third game should definitely play the second, it's very good in my opinion.

After reading this I will definitely pick up Witcher 2 at some point, Witcher 3 is up there for me and I did play witcher 1 when I was really young, and I just assumed 2 has a same level of quality as 1. Also nice review btw.

@VERS Aww, thank you so much for these kind words :) Cool to see that you want to give it a try, I wish you the best of times with the game. And yes, it's definitely a huuuuge step from Witcher 1, you'll see.
