This game will mug you, stab you, kick you in the balls, then piss on you while your on the ground. It is the definition of a brutal game. But thats why its so amazing. Lisa is a game about trauma, hopelessness, and living in world not worth living in. Constantly facing the worst humanity has to offer and trying to survive in a world that wants nothing but your blood. The story is brilliant and, well, painful.

The gameplay is very fun, especially for a game like this. From my experience, many games that try to focus on the story and the meaning behind it tend to have gameplay as just a useless little side bit. But Lisa has very fun gameplay that perfectly entwines with it's themes. It forced you to play and feel like your living in this cruel world. Brad Armstrong is easily one of my favorite characters in gaming. His character is well fleshed out and presented in a complex and honest way. A heavily flawed man doing what he thinks is best in a world that's only every treated him like shit. A character that you equal parts want to give the biggest hug and the biggest punch across the face.

With one of my favorite stories in gaming, a banging soundtrack, and of the darkest and cruelest worlds I've seen in media, this game is easily one of the best games I've played. I don't recommend it to people who are sensitive to topics of violence, rape, suicide, abuse, body horror, substance abuse, person abuse, and really anything terrible you can think of under the sun. But if you are ok with a story that revels in these topics, I highly recommend giving it a try.
