I'm finding it really hard to enjoy this game. It's failing to engage me in any shape or form. The map is too big, but nowhere as in-depth in terms of enemies, treasures, traps, secrets, and biome themes. This game is simply painfully average, which is a huge bummer, because I really enjoyed Ys I + II.

I hope the latest entries in this series won't disappoint me.

I liked Oath in Felghana or whatever the remake of Ys III was (the original Ys III was awesome), and had some solid fun with Ark of Napishtim (Ys VI) and Lacrimosa of Dana (Ys VIII). I know I played through this one, but I can hardly even remember it because it didn't make much of an impact on me. I feel this review hard.
Oath in Felghana, Seven, Lacrimosa of Dana and Monstrum Nox are all fantastic games. I do agree Celceta is a weaker Ys title, but it's still pretty fun, had fantastic music, I loved the cartography aspect of filling out the map and really liked the characters too and honestly to each their own, but I liked it more than Ys I and II personally. Also maybe it is just me, but saying something is painfully average and then giving it a 1.5 just doesn't make sense. Average would be like 2.5. A 1.5 is more like 'wow this game is really bad and has very little redeemable about it' IMO.

@CtheIronblooded
I also really enjoyed Oath in Felghana, so I hope that I'll like the other games you listed! Yeah, I get that it's a matter of taste and that other ppl would give an average game maybe a 2.5, but personally I'm just fed up with jrpgs being painfully average. My enjoyment here was just really nonexistent.
Well, I am not an asshole so I won't push it any further, everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if I don't agree with said opinion, I'm sorry to hear you didn't find any enjoyment in it and I hope you do enjoy the other games more!
