The main story is amazing man. It has made me cry multiple times, which is more than I can say for 95% of games I have played. It's not "great for a gacha game". It's just great.

Which is why it pains me so much that everything aside from the main story is such a chore. I've been playing for 4 years and over 2000 hours, so I have seen every single event in NA. From the Moon Goddess event to the Requiem collab. Most of them have an actual Mickey Mouse story that attempts to be funny, and the ones that do try to be serioues fall flat. And let me tell you, every single one of those events is an awful grind of doing the same nodes over and over every day the event is ran. That is what 75% of fgo gameplay is. Bringing 3 Servants and using their skills and NP to clear the node in 3 turns. It feels like a conveyer belt job.

The main story and challenge quest fights are much better, with fun mechanics and actual challenge. Or they would be, if the devs didn't periodicaly release broken supports that make it so you can clear 99% of fights in the game with ease. This makes the combat feel like a waste of your time.

So yeah, FGO made me feel as if I have a part-time job for years, every single day. I guess me sticking with it until now goes to show just how astonishing the main story is. But I've had enough
