Despite obvious flaws, revelations is a very decent resident evil game. It's just not amazing either. It managed to blend horror and action a lot better than others in the series, it has heaps of quality-of-life changes to the gameplay that make it a super enjoyable game to play. But the story is weak, the episodic formula was an odd choice and the scanning mechanic alongside swimming sections was just not fun. I still however do think it's worth a playthrough if you are looking for more resident evil to play.
