Pretty janky and oftentimes awkward to control, but honestly really impressive and cinematic for 2001. The shooting and bullet-time mechanics are executed well and outside of some really bad platforming sections which rely on constant quick saving/loading to get through, the level design is also intuitive and natural-feeling.

I really liked the comic book styled cutscenes and the pulpy noir aesthetic, though I do prefer the first half's gangster and Russian mob plots more than the back half's soldier and mercenary enemies. I feel like it kind of loses the thing that made it interesting when it devolves to gunning down waves of identical soldiers with machine guns.

Still, a fun time that aged honestly pretty well, and maybe the best Punisher game ever made.
