I love One Piece more than the air I breathe. There is no other piece of media in this world I like more than One Piece, and when I heard there was a One Piece JRPG (my favorite genre of game) coming out I was absolutely through the roof. I was so excited, but when the game finally came out and I put a decent amount of time to it, I realized something. This game SUCKS. Ok I take it back it doesn't suck. It's a well put together game, runs great, and was obviously written, developed, and programmed by die hard One Piece fans. And I won't lie and say that it wasn't a treat to see the countless easter eggs, references, and just love put into it. But the combat and character progression is some of the most boring and easy I have ever played in a video game. The whole different stages gimmick is a really cool idea, but there is NOTHING to it. Nothing will ever pose an even remote challenge to you. Every battle is just use move that enemy is weak to, and you win. That's it. Even my absolute love of the source material wasn't enough to carry my enjoyment throughout the game. As a one piece fan I can recommend it just due to the sheer amount of love it exudes not only for the series, but for the fans as well. As an RPG fan, stay the heck away.
